Jessica Boutin, M.Ed, Special Educator
Jessica is the Lead Teacher in our Morrisville school. She has worked in both our independent schools and public schools as an instructor and program coordinator. Jess shares her passion for a strength-based approach when working with her students and colleagues. Prior to joining our staff, Jess provided home based early intervention services and worked in a private school with a focus on RCS (Realizing Children’s Strengths). Jess enjoys reading, biking, running, and anything active.
Teal Bryan, BA, School Coordinator
Teal is the School Coordinator in. Prior to joining the Mosaic team, she worked with children and their families at a residential facility and inclusion program. She thrives when working with a collaborative and supportive team with an emphasis on student’s strengths and abilities. She enjoys all activities outside, playing soccer and playing with her pup Maddy. Her favorite food is lobster and anything chocolate.
Heather Bushey, MS, Operations Manager
Prior to serving as Operations Manager, Heather has worked as an Instructor and Clinical Assistant at Mosaic Learning Center. During her many years of service at Mosaic, she has integrated her experience of working with children and knowledge of organizational development to enhance our services. Before coming to Mosaic, Heather worked as a director of a childcare center and taught preschool for several years. Heather enjoys running and kayaking. Additionally, she enjoys spending time with her family, gardening and canning summer vegetables.
Jared Cipriano, Instructor
Jared is an Instructor in our South Burlington school. He has worked at Mosaic for many years and also as a camp counselor. He enjoys working with a great team and having a positive impact on the lives of our students. Jared loves coaching and playing soccer, snowboarding and enjoys being outdoors.
Nathan D’Aversa, Instructor
Nate is an Instructor in our South Burlington school. Previously, he has worked as a Behavior Interventionist, a soccer coach, and a camp counselor. He loves spending time with the students here at Mosaic and having fun with them. He has a great day when his student is having a great day! Outside of work, he enjoys soccer, exercise, eating, and having fun.
Christopher Erickson, Instructor
Christopher Erickson is an Instructor in our Morrisville school. Chris has previously worked with students with developmental disabilities in a private school setting. He loves working with children and is eager to bring his knowledge of outdoor education to Mosaic. Chris likes to be outside hiking, camping, canoeing, kayaking and rock climbing. He also enjoys visiting friends and cooking.
Ashley Gravel, Instructor
Ashley is an Instructor in our Morrisville school. She has many years of experience working with students in the public school setting. Ashley loves working with students and watching them grow and be successful in new challenges. She appreciates Mosaic’s strength based philosophy on teaching. Ashley enjoys being active with her kids, coaching and cheerleading and loves traveling, baking and cooking.
Richard Gullickson, Instructor
Richard is an Instructor in our South Burlington school. He has several years of experience teaching and interacting with children. Richard had the opportunity to teach English in Korea prior to joining the Mosaic team. He enjoys the team mentality and the dedication of improving every day. He appreciates making a difference in student’s lives. Richard enjoys all things sports, outdoor activities, new travel opportunities and experiencing new cuisines.
Gregory Heelan, Instructor
Gregory Heelan is an Instructor in our South Burlington school. Greg previously tutored students of all ability levels in multiple subject areas. He enjoys working with students individually and watching them reach their full potential. Greg has played guitar for many years and continues to play music. He also loves being outside hiking, fishing, biking, backpacking and camping.
Rachel Horton, Instructor
Rachel is an Instructor in one of our public school programs. She has several years of teaching experience and is passionate about each of our students and the progress of their learning. She loves to be outside doing just about anything, reading and playing games.
Glendon Ingalls, Instructor
Glendon Ingalls is an Instructor in our Morrisville school. Glenn has several years of experience teaching in both public and private schools. He appreciates working in small groups and individually with students. He loves the atmosphere of positivity and collaboration that surrounds Mosaic. Glenn enjoys painting, hiking, reading and swimming in the river in the summer months.
Michelle Irish, M.Ed., Director of Innovation and Schools
Michelle has been a Director at Mosaic Learning Center for over ten years. As a former Special Education Director, Michelle’s experiences in public school provide a bridge to our community agency and public school partners. Michelle works with our staff to discover and develop students’ inherent gifts and unique abilities that allow them to flourish and grow into successful, independent individuals. Michelle has a passion for cooking, traveling, and enjoys spending time with her family on Lake Carmi in the summer.
Shannon Jankowski, M.Ed., Special Educator
Shannon “JJ” Jankowski is a Special Educator in our South Burlington school. Shannon has many years experience working with students with disabilities in a public school setting. She enjoys building on student’s strengths for them to be successful. Shannon’s passion of working with individuals with developmental disabilities comes from her love for her brother with special needs. In her free time, Shannon enjoys paddleboarding, reading, painting and spending time with family.

Lauren Longo, BA, Clinical Assistant
Lauren “Lola” started as an Instructor in 2005 before moving to California, and returned to Mosaic in 2015 as the Clinical Assistant in our Morrisville school. She contributes many years of experience in program development, implementation, and supervision to students with autism. She admires the unique individualized environment, strength based approach to wholistic learning, and community integration that Mosaic provides to its students. Lola is fluent in reading, writing, and speaking the Spanish language. In her free time, Lola enjoys playing with her two children, photography, hosting parties, and spending time outdoors with her family, friends, and dog.
Laura McKinstry, Instructor
Laura has worked as an Instructor in one of our public school programs for many years. She values the opportunity to integrate our programs into the public school day and the opportunity for collaborative work. Prior to joining our team, Laura had over 5 years experience working as a 1:1 in the public school setting. She enjoys time travelling, kayaking, hiking, and being with her family.
Miriam Novotny, MSPOD, Executive Director
As the Executive Director of the Mosaic Learning Center, Miriam values developing a work environment that engages the unique abilities and strengths of staff and students. With staff and community partners, she seeks to inspire a sense of curiosity and creativity in order to foster the most vibrant learning community possible. When she is not at work, Miriam enjoys time with her family, in her garden or on the water.
Hannah Orsino, Instructor
Hannah Orsino is an Instructor in our South Burlington school. She has several years experience as a tutor and mentor for middle school students in the public school and after school program, as well as a teacher assistant and summer camp counselor. Hannah enjoys teaching new things to students and helping them be successful. She feels rewarded and proud when a student learns and uses new knowledge. Hannah finds joy in life when she is around kids. In her free time she likes to read, watch live music, engage in outdoor activities, traveling and cooking/eating new kinds of food.
Amy Paskevich, Instructor
Amy is an Instructor in our South Burlington school. Previously, she has worked as a paraprofessional in a public school setting and as a job coach. She loves the positive and supportive environment Mosaic Learning Center provides for the staff and students. She is looking forward to creating meaningful relationships with the students and supporting them with educational and behavioral needs to help them be successful. In her free time, she loves playing basketball, going for runs, and watching movies with her cat.
Kim Provost, BA, Clinical Assistant
Kim is a Clinical Assistant at our South Burlington school. She began working with children as an intern at the Child Development Center at Johnson State College. She continued working with children after graduation in the public school system for 5 years before starting at the Mosaic Learning Center. Kim values Mosaic’s positive and supportive environment as well as the individualized programs that allow students to hone their individual strengths and abilities. In Kim’s free time, she enjoys running, playing soccer, basketball, and spending time with family and friends.
Margaret Rockwell, Instructor
Margaret “Megan” is an Instructor in our South Burlington school. Previously, she has experience working in the public school setting. She loves the collaborative environment of Mosaic. In her free time, Megan enjoys drawing, reading and being outdoors.
Megan Rozumalski, M.Ed, Special Educator
Megan is the Lead Teacher in our South Burlington school. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and currently is working towards her Master’s in Special Education from UVM. She enjoys the integrated approach to creating meaningful programs for our students and values the one-on-one instruction provided to support the strengths of each student. Along with Megan’s experience working with students with developmental disabilities, she also brings her enthusiasm for soccer and a love for outdoor activities to our community.
Melissa Scanlon, MS, CCC-SLP, BCBA
Melissa has worked on our clinical team as a Speech Language Pathologist and Behaviorist in the private and public school setting. Melissa values the trusting and friendly environment of our schools and public school programs. She believes our students achieve their strongest outcomes when all stakeholders work as a team. Outside of work, Melissa lives an active life biking, running, hiking, cross country skiing and reading.
Sarah Stutz, M.Ed, Education and Clinical Director, OTR/L
Sarah has served as an Occupational Therapist and Clinical Coordinator on our multidisciplinary clinical team. Her interest in collaborative work both with our staff and community partners influences her program development and implementation. She values working with the students and creating goals that are relevant to them. Prior to working at Mosaic, Sarah worked with patients with traumatic brain injuries as well as in the public school system. Outside of work, she enjoys time with her family, running, reading, working in her garden and time riding her horses.

Stephanie Veit, MS, OTR/L
Stephanie works as one of our Occupational Therapists in our independent schools. As a member of our clinical team, Stephanie provides a depth of experience and knowledge that informs the development of meaningful programs with positive growth and outcomes. Outside of work, Stephanie enjoys spending tine with her family, running and skiing.
Elaina Waite, MS, Clinical Assistant
Elaina is a Clinical Assistant in our South Burlington school. She has many years of experience working with students with development disabilities. She appreciates the collaboration and team approach when working with students. She enjoys teaching, playing and learning with students. She feels like it is not work when she has support from others who love what they do. In Elaina’s free time she enjoys outdoor activities like skiing, hiking and disc golf. She is also an active dancer and enjoys yoga. Elaina relishes time with her family and friends.
Alexandra Welych-Miller, Instructor
Alex is an Instructor in our Morrisville school. Alex had the opportunity to intern at Upstate University Hospital where she shadowed a psychologist and assisted in a social skills group. This opportunity was her introduction to working with children with developmental disabilities and drew her to Mosaic.
