Fostering independence outside of school
The High School and Beyond program focuses on vocational, daily living and community-based services for transition-aged youth (age 16-22) with developmental disabilities. We use a variety of strength-based assessments in the areas of adaptive skills, interest inventories and preference assessments. With a focus on independence and a goal of competitive-wage employment upon graduation, our staff works with students to seek out, obtain and maintain employment in their community.
This program also focuses on the life skills needed to live as independently as possible. We provide case management support to assist students and their families with the transition to community-based adult services in Vermont.
